Hi, I'm Syed Ghulam Akbar

I'm a software architect by profession, and today I lead the platform team at DUG, building secure and robust HPC infrastructure. I've been writing code for more than 25 years, from FoxPro on an Intel 386 to distributed software on supercomputer clusters.

Outside of work, I'm a hobbyist coder who loves algorithms, learning new stuff and flying R/C planes. Many of my projects started as everyday annoyances and grew into tools other people use, like Subtitles Translator, which has translated over 10 million subtitles.

    Created my first Hello World! program on Intel 386 in FoxPro.

    Won the all-Pakistan spot programming contest at International Islamic University.
