“When I was using Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite to translate the subtitles for Little House on the Prairie Season 1 Episode 1, I used the ‘Merge’ feature to generate bilingual English-Chinese subtitles. On one particular subtitle frame, there were two sentences: ‘No, not today. Today is special.’ However, the AI only translated the first sentence ‘No, not today’ for that frame, while pushing the translation of ‘Today is special’ into the next frame. This caused the translation for the next frame to be pushed to the one after that, and so on. This domino effect caused a long sequence of misalignments until it suddenly resynced later on. I only noticed this issue halfway through watching the video, and it really ruined the viewing experience. How to prevent this from happening in the future? Thanks!”

I’m sorry for the bad experience Anthony. This is unfortunately is a known problem with AI translators, where they sometime mix-up the context and do unintended shifting. The good news is that this is less frequent with high-end or latest models, but it’s still a problem. The best recommendation I can have is that try to visually inspect the rows quickly after translation. I have built in tools to fix these sync issues or re-translate a batch of problematic rows. You can read more about it here:
      https://blog.syedgakbar.com/subtitles-translator-help-tips/#shift-rows

PS. I have issued a full refund for that translation.

Hey, thanks a lot! Your site has helped me a lot with editing, and please keep the Google feature free, bro šŸ˜„. I’m even thinking about getting your plan.

I wanted to ask something: I translated an SRT file, and now I want the subtitles to appear in two lines instead of a single line. But whenever I import it into editing software, the “ tag also appears. Doing it manually isn’t really possible, especially for 30–60 minute videos.

So is there any solution for this? Please let me know, bro. Thanks a lot!

      Hi Akshat,

Thank you for the feedback. Are you using Maximum Subtitle row length calculator on my website to split the subtitles into multiple lines? If not, I would recommend trying that and see how it goes.

BTW, it looks like the tag you mentioned got removed. Can you re-type it so that I can understand what’s going wrong and how to best fix it?

    Hello Akbar;
can you please consider providing an API for your online subtitle translation? I really love your platform and think having an API would be incredibly useful for developers who want to integrate your translation service into their own tools (like me:).

Let me know if this is something you might add. Thanks for the great work!

      Hi Amirreza,

Thanks for you feedback and suggestion. First of all, I’m glad you are finding this service of help.

Regarding API integration, this has been asked by few other members as well. However, as being a developer you already know, it’s a big project and I would love to do this neatly. I can’t commit on a schedule, but definitely going to add this in my high priority list. Once I have develop something, I will need some volunteers and I will then contact you for sure.

Hi, can you please add another SSO service like GitHub? I don’t want to use Google for data protection reasons.

      Hi Mike,

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. Fair enough, I will try to support few more SSO providers, pretty soon.

      Hi Saka,

Nothing has changed on my end. Probably some new updates on iPhone is causing this to fail. Any help for the iPhone community fellows here?

      Hi Joachim,

To cancel your subscription, please follow these steps:
      1. Click on the current subscription name – on the left side of your balance display.
      2. In the “Current Plan” dialog, click on the “Change” button at the bottom of the dialog.
      3. It should show the “Subscription Plan” dialog.
      4. In this dialog, select the “Free” subscription plan.
      5. This would trigger cancellation of the subscription after your current plan expires.

      I hope this helps.

    Hi, Akbar!
Yesterday and today DeepSeek translator doesn’t work 😢😭 It tries to calculate cost, but returnes “Error: Unexpected server error: error-code: 500” I like DeppSeek so much, other models can’t translate from chineese so nice.
    Best wishes, Nadya

    Good morning, Akbar
A few minutes ago, I upgraded my subscription plan from “Free” to “Pro”. The payment has already been taken via “Stripe”, but shortly afterwards I received an error message saying that the Pro membership hadn’t gone through.
However, the membership did work, because on your website my ā€˜Membership’ has changed from ā€˜Free’ to ā€˜Pro’. I would still be grateful if you could take a look at my membership, as everything has always worked perfectly with ā€˜Stripe’ up to now, so I’m a bit confused by the error message that appeared afterwards.
And, before I forget: thank you very much for providing this excellent website for us users. The translations work flawlessly and the new ā€œStructured (Preview)ā€ version is a real bonus.
    Best regards,
    Matthias

      Hi Matthias,

Thank you for being an active user of this tool and welcome to the “Pro” membership. I’m glad you have been enjoying these service all along and I hope you find the exclusive features worth it. In case you have any further suggestions or input, please do share.

Regarding the membership upgrade error, that’s a bit odd, because I don’t see any errors being logged on my server regarding this upgrade. And your membership has indeed changed to “Pro” level. By any chance do you remember the wording of the error message or have screenshot? I can then look further into this one.

      Regards,
      Akbar

Thank you for your feedback Harshita. I’m sorry to hear that you don’t like the new color scheme. I have been trying to modernize the layout, but still trying to keep it readable for majority of the users. I will give this another look and will try to improve this further.

Any particular section or area you find more problematic with new style?

      Regards,

Hi I tried to translate a set of Spanish subs but when I upload them, your program doesn’t recognize accented characters and substitutes a question mark where the accented letter ought be. For instance a word such as “DroĆÆde” is uploaded in the system as “Dro?de”
As you can imagine this completely defeats the purpose given how many words in Spanish contain letters with accents on them. Given the high occurrence of accents in Spanish, it’s impossible to go over each line and rehabilitate the text. One might as well hand-translate the entire file.

Hi, from your description, it looks like you are trying to translate files with non UTF-8 encoding. Even though my website tries to auto convert the subtitles on-demand, the algorithm to detect UTF-8 encoding is not foolproof, so might be failing there. Can you check your subtitles file encoding online (there are few online tools) and then try these again?

Otherwise, you can also send me a copy of these at my email address (see footer) and I can look into what’s going wrong there.

      Regards,
      Akbar

Sometime, With google translate, there are around 15% of the subtitles is not translated (randomly at some part of the subtitles).

Thanks for reporting this back. What if you try to re-upload and re-translate? Does it always skip certain lines or their position is random too?
